Renowned South African artist William Kentridge reflects on a lifetime of work and reimagines elements of everyday life in the exhibition Universal Archive, on display at the Picker Art Gallery this spring.

The journey of a hundred artworks begins with a single person. Ellen Percy Kraly, William R. Kenan Jr. Professor of geography and environmental studies, has been awarded an honorary doctorate by Australia’s Curtin University in recognition of her efforts to repatriate an invaluable collection of Noongar aboriginal art to its home Down Under.

This post is by Jessica Rice ’16 As students are concluding their second full week of school, there are tons of events happening around campus. It’s going to be a busy week at 56�Թ��� with Homecoming Weekend around the corner, so here are some of the events you don’t want to miss.

A celebrated jazz singer and an acclaimed international artist will be on campus and in the village of Hamilton in the coming days. Jane Monheit, who has established herself as one of the post-millennial jazz world’s foremost vocalists, will perform a free concert at 8 p.m. Friday in the Palace Theater.
