More than 125 56�Թ��� faculty, staff, and students cast votes for their preferred piece in the inaugural Art Tank event, the culmination of Professor Elizabeth Marlowe’s new, experiential learning course ARTH/MUSE 254: How (and Why) To Buy a Work of Art.

Professor Elizabeth Marlowe’s ARTH/MUSE 254: How (and Why) To Buy a Work of Art introduces students to the many considerations that shape museum decisions about which works of art to acquire.

The events were in coordination with 56�Թ���'s Arts, Creativity, and Innovation Initiative, presented by Living Writers, University Museums, and the Ryan Family Film Series.

56�Թ���’s Picker Art Gallery will open its spring exhibition A Thought Is A Thread: Contemporary Artists Reworking Textile Traditions on Feb. 20 at 4:30 p.m. with a public reception.

56�Թ���’s entire collection of Chinese woodcut prints, donated by geography professor emeritus and Peace and Conflict Studies founder Theodore Herman (1954–1981), is now on display for the first time.
