Even though first-years had barely stepped foot on 56�Թ���’s campus last week, Adam Zimmermann ’10 didn’t waste any time getting the Class of 2012 fired up to vote. Recognizing a golden opportunity, Zimmermann, president of 56�Թ���’s Student Association for Voter Empowerment (SAVE), decided to integrate a voter registration drive into Link orientation meetings.

Geography professor Ellen Kraly’s hiking boots have logged many miles. Four years ago they went up Mount Baker in Washington state as Kraly raised money for breast cancer research, and next week they’ll be taking on Mount Baker’s larger Cascade neighbor, Mount Rainier, for the same cause.
